After two weeks, I FINALLY (after four Canadian and now one Swedish) got to see a gold medal ceremony for an American. I'm glad it was Apolo's. I saw his race twice and am surprised to learn that NBC covered more of it, false starts and all. :) This does not, however, redeem their coverage in my book. CBC is still better.
I loved the fact that Sweden won. It is even better that the three goals came from Wings.
What a happy Team Sweden and great day for hockey. And someone should tell Finland that winning silver and coming in second in stiff competition is a wonderful achievement that they should all be rather proud of.
Homer going to the box is such a rare site, I thought I should post it just to remember the moment. =>

that could easily be one of the top ten photos from the entire games.
but it could just be me being a little biased, or sentimental and missing don knotts...
Sheriff McCoy: You're rear end's on fire, Theodore.
Theodore (Don Knotts): Oh. Thank you.
[Jumps and frantically slaps fire out; glares at Amos]
Theodore (Don Knotts): Why didn't you tell me my rear end was on fire?
Amos (Tim Conway): Well, you said not to do anything to attract attention.
